On the sidelines of ITU Council 2026 in Geneva, Rwanda hosted a reception to present its candidacy for re-election to the ITU Council for the 2027–2030 term. Rwanda highlighted its progress in AI, cybersecurity, data sharing and digital public infrastructure, reaffirming its commitment to working with Member States to advance inclusive digital development and shape a more connected world.

Thank you to my sister President @SuluhuSamia for the warm welcome to Tanzania and for the productive discussions. Rwanda and Tanzania are not only neighbors but brotherly countries bound by history and a shared goal of prosperity for our people. “Artificial intelligence carries high potential to support health care workers and to improve how care is delivered. It would take 180 years for that gap to close at the current pace of progress. So, as part of the 4x4 reform initiative, Minister of Health Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana (@nsanzimanasabin) recently announced the launch of an AI-powered Health Intelligence Center in Kigali to help ensure limited health care resources are being used as wisely as possible. As part of the #Horizon1000 initiative, we aim to accelerate the adoption of AI tools across primary care clinics, within communities and in people’s homes.
