There's a whole lot of reasons. Here's one. My parents are in their late 70s but still very independent. But both of them are starting to lose their night vision and are slower to react. I've been nervous about them driving for awhile so I talked them into getting a model Y with FSD. They are now able to get around safely and by the time they eventually lose their licenses due to vision or age or whatever, hopefully FSD unsupervised will be there to ensure they can still get where they want to go.

The nurse scrolls through the tablet. “Firearms are one of the leading causes of death in the United States,” she adds, matter-of-fact. You can almost hear the template response she’s expecting. “Yes. Stored properly. Locked. Unloaded. Ammo separate.” She nods before you even answer, fingers hovering over the keyboard. “Perfect,” she says. “That’s exactly what we want to hear.” Click. Click. Click. Documented. She smiles again, warm and professional, like the moment never meant anything more than routine paperwork. “Our goal,” she says as she closes the chart, “is your child’s safety.” The room goes quiet again. Your toddler grabs the stethoscope hanging from the counter. And you’re left sitting there wondering something you didn’t expect to wonder when you walked in: When that question comes up in the exam room… what do you say? 👀

@AngelMD1103 Stricter rules are never the answer. People don't respect the rules, especially when they're hard to enforce. People intentionally violate the rules to prove a point. Wisdom and experience are far more valuable. And where that doesn't work, the laws of nature will.

Sometimes, a simple modification can turn a harmless ride into a serious safety risk. Do you think stricter rules are needed for modified scooters and small engines, or should it be up to riders to manage the risk?

@danzu72 The only ones drunk on power are the "foreign service officers" who have been bilking the American taxpayer for 30 years with nothing to show for it.

I worked for USAID when It was closed, these guys literally were firing senior Foreign Service Officers with 30 years of experience on the spot. These kids were drunk on power and a reckoning is coming. I will always be hot about this shit. I know for a fact we allowed children to die because of these snotty shits.
