You need to be writing down your weight every single day or you will wake up at your next physical 15 pounds overweight. Here you can see I started to let it slip at the end of the month. So much easier to course correct in the moment.

See all these old bags walking around in Hokas and On Clouds with 6 inches of foam between their feet and the ground. Wobbling all over the place, they look like they could topple over at any second. It may seem counterintuitive, but you need to be strengthening your feet, not aiding in their atrophy. All the cushion is only exacerbating the problem, weakening feet, accelerating instability. Force and balance are generated through your feet. Wearing cushy shoes indefinitely means more injuries and less mobility earlier in life. Also, for anyone who likes running and has shin splints, its highly correlated with weak lower legs/feet. I love looking good, but I daily drive a pair of barefoot shoes. My calves finally got a little juice behind them too. These things aren’t that ugly, right?
