Empirically speaking: The movement from Catholic --> Protestant is way larger than the opposite direction. In the 1970s: 8% of Catholics became Protestants 3% of Protestants became Catholic. In the 2020s: 12% of Catholics -> Protestants 3% of Protestants -> Catholic

"Would you say you have been "born again" or have had a "born again" experience -- that is, a turning point in your life when you committed yourself to Christ?" In 1988, 37% of Americans indicated that they had a born-again experience at one point. In 2024, it was 38%.

In 1972, just 20% of all Christians in the United States were evangelicals. Now, it's 35%. During that same time period, the share of Christians who were mainline Protestants dropped in half. From 33% to 17%. Today there are 2 evangelicals for every 1 mainline Protestant

Classic literature is difficult because the knowledge it contains is powerful and dangerous and should only be accessible to an elite clerical class. Hope this helps

Democrats had a populist candidate, Bernie Sanders, in 2016 and 2020. The party elite and donors decided they were going to try to continue milking the cash cow of corporate oligarchy. So they scuttled his candidacy, and turned their back on the agenda that made him popular.
