DC fans will never grasp the fact that this is good writing. It’s his first day as Superman and first time in a fight. Your first instinct when something is thrown at you is to dodge. He didn’t expect it to explode, which is why he looks back in shock. I know CBM fans aren’t used to good writing, and characters just magically become great at everything when they put on a suit, but that isn’t realistic nor is it good writing. No wonder why the CBM genre is seen as mindless slop for the most part. That’s all the fans understand. *also that building was confirmed empty
