@the_transit_guy Went to Acadia two Octobers ago & the seasonal free shuttle bus had just shut down for the year Had to drive all around the park to get to hiking trails & couldn’t go to Jordan Pond House because there were no parking spots Impossible to go to Acadia “offseason” without a car

swear I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but we seriously need a shuttle system for all of our national parks. It's completely unacceptable that experiencing nature is ruined by gridlock traffic.

Traffic to the Yosemite entrance gate backed up to El Portal Market--that is over three miles. Read reports that parking in Yosemite Valley was full this morning, so when these folks arrive in the Valley, there is nowhere to park. Park leadership is being careless with such a precious place they were entrusted to preserve by allowing this.

@projomike Not quite Podcasts & YouTube talk shows have already shown you do not need the massive crews & staff of late night broadcast TV shows (which isn’t sustainable with diminished ad revenue) You can put out lower budget + visual quality talk shows & audiences still consume & enjoy

With the call up of Morabito, the Mets have 6 outfielders to play 3 positions (if you count Melendez). They only have 5 infielders on the roster to play 4 positions. They need to get Cristian Arroyo or Ryan Clifford up here to replace Melendez.

The plan was not to have Nimmo & Alonso clog up your roster for the remainder thru 2030, with contracts that will increasingly become more difficult to move when you have their eventual replacements in your system. Some of them have just arrived quicker than anticipated.

But Alonso very well may be this player moving forward & while I agree with A & B for 2026, those moves were more about 2029-2030 But Mets need to use their freed-up $ wiser in the future than they have the last two years in which they’ve made a lot of poor signings

@ericcsilverman @heshsson Yeah Alonso is off to a slow start. Changing leagues is difficult for a lot of guys. (See Bo Bichette) I think with Alonso and Nimmo in the lineup: A. We’re way better right now, and B. We could still find spots for Vientos (DH), Benge (CF), and Ewing (2B)

@Common_Jets_Fan @heshsson To be fair: Vientos’ stats rn are almost identical to Alonso’s. & he is much cheaper. But Polanco was the wrong choice of 1B insurance if Vientos didn’t bounce back. Benge & Ewing have very high ceilings Semien is def washed & time will tell what Nimmo’s next 5 years look like

@Common_Jets_Fan @heshsson In an ideal world, Mets will soon not need to spend all this $ on the Polanco’s and Roberts of the world because they have cheap in-house talent to plug those holes & then they can spend their $$$ on long-term deals for next available superstars. But Alonso/Nimmo aren’t that.

@Common_Jets_Fan @heshsson Lindor and Soto were the superstar exceptions & were already under contract But their long-term contracts, especially Soto’s, were reported to be a reason Mets were shy on adding/retaining another long-term deal Can’t have Alonso or Nimmo DHing in 4 years if Soto might be there

@heshsson That is absolutely stunad. Lindor’s contract will “clog” up SS for awhile, guess we should move off of him. Soto’s deal will be horrible in 2038, better trade him now so he doesn’t “clog” the roster. Just a brutal take.🤦‍♂️
