@JBBHoops1 Agreed, this is how I feel about some small guard/Acuff defense in the NBA

Acuff is a difficult eval imo. He and Philon are the first young PGs since Brunson to be 1) bad rebounders 2) meh/bad defenders 3) on-ball stars with scoring/playmaking. Check the 2p%. That’s what made Brunson. Might 3p talent “make” Acuff? How high you want to bet it will?

I find it funny how Jalen Brunson can have games like this at 6’2 but Darius Acuff Jr can’t be good in the league because he’s only 6’3

@vSwungo @JadenTheKid4 @ballerlegend03 @abditmr It’s a fair critique, I don’t think he’ll ever be an even average defender but if he project to like a Garland/Brunson or someone of that natures defensive level (which I think is very reasonable) then he’s one of the top prospects of this class imo

I agree and the sky high offensive load will make staying engaged on defence a lot more taxing physically and mentally, I just wish we could’ve seen it even slightly more I believe he has the tools to be a good defender while being undersized. His wingspan can make up for it I just don’t personally bank on guys to develop the defensive motor to stay engaged when they rarely show it maybe acuff with less pressure to create offensively can pick it up but I’m unsure about it currently given what he’s shown at Arkansas and how heavy mismatch hunting is in nba schemes nowadays.

@vSwungo @JadenTheKid4 @ballerlegend03 @abditmr Well that’s not what I said, Brunson is in the passing lanes more because he’s more active on the ball which I agree with, Acuff has been a pumpkin in terms of awareness, but his POA reps even in college are already on Brunsons level if not better (esp at navigating screens)

Who doesn't like a little projection into the future? Here's my current top-25 for the 2027 #NBADraft class with notes. Fair warning, some measurements might be off because we're at the stage of conflicting and old reports. Thoughts? Let me know!

@vSwungo @JadenTheKid4 @ballerlegend03 @abditmr Darius has spurts of being a Brunson level defender on the ball and he’s gonna be a better screen navigator then him in the nba he clearly has better footwork in that sense, he will be a Brunson level defender in the NBA with nba reps lol

Obviously he will be used as a Brunson type at the next level I just don’t see him on Brunson’s level as a defender Brunson will give effort fight over screens and be hidden when possible I just see Darius as a way lazier and easily beatable small guard that will get hunted possession after possession. It also won’t do him favours to go to an awful team with bad defenders around him it will only make him lazier and less engaged on that end I feel.

On a side note Tyler Tanner’s strengths are crazy but man his weaknesses scare the shit out of me. 9.2 rim/100 at 64.4% 10.3 FT/100 at 85.3% 7.7 3PA/100 36.8%, on tough looks but the 6/28 on 26+ foot 3s number scares me. The nutty stocks numbers, 4.1% and 1.1% block and the beautiful turnover economy. However it’s just so hard to be an impactful player at the NBA level when you’re 5’11 barefoot. It’s very nice that he has a 6’4 wingspan and that might be his saving grace.

My Big Board 2.0 Lots of opinions have changed since the original. I’ve fallen in love with Ebuka Okorie and Morez Johnson as prospects. Would love to talk more about my board and prospects.

@G1DBAM I don’t hate the fit tho, wouldnt a physical forward who’s elite at cutting that provides connective value benefit Jokic greatly

Question for draft scouts… If Yaxel Lendenborg put up this exact season as a 19-year-old freshman instead of an older prospect, where would he be projected in the 2026 NBA Draft?
