@jo32192000 Been looking at some of the prediction sites for May 2026 and they don't see much change in Trafford.Tories win a couple but lose a couple to Greens,Reform might win 1 or 2,Greens might win in places like Old Trafford.Hope they're wrong and ignoring local views rather than trends

@FootballInT80s Takes me back to the Soccer Sixes at G-Mex in Manchester, imagine Premier League teams fielding first team players in a midweek 6 a side tournament that were then due to play in the league game at the weekend

13 Mar 1985: Meanwhile, whilst the Millwall fans were running riot at Kenilworth Road, over at the Wembley Arena QPR were busy winning the annual Evening Standard 5 a side tournament. Covered on Midweek Sports Special, it’s stuff like this that I really miss.

Exciting move for Lingard at this stage in his career. Still think we massively fucked him over by not just selling him to West Ham after his really successful loan there.

@shankers73 @WhitesideOne 2nd,with a points total that would have won the league most seasons but Liverpool had an even better season. It probably flattered to deceive as Fergie told Edwards he needed a whole new team

Start your day with a FA Cup SF classic. Back to 1987 and 1st Division @Coventry_City vs. 2nd Division @LUFC at Hillsborough. Tottenham had beaten Watford the day before and were waiting for the winner. #PUSB #LUFC

@johnwillia12104 @WhitesideOne Yep, you couldn't get down the middle tunnel to get onto the terraces behind the goal, we had to shift more toward the corner to get some room to stand and get access

@pgaskell13 They normally lay wreaths on the centre circle pre-game or is that something that only happens when the match coincides with the exact date?

50 years I’ve been going to United and I may be wrong but that’s the first time I can remember no minutes silence before the game on the anniversary of Munich

@Cantona_Collars @Sharpeyofficial I remember this game more for Roy Keane complaining at the ref until he realised the penalty had been given for us, that and it being the only time I've been on the tram to the game and it's been that busy, it skipped Stretford as no room

@MoaningManc101 Cheers, getting a resonable settlement for length of service but finding new roles difficult to find due to age and skills that are a bit dated now. Might need a Plan B but I'll find something

@StreetwisestuV2 Remember outrage in 83/84 when they put the ECWC semi against Juventus up by 20p more than the QF against Barcelona had cost. I think my Stretford Paddock junior ticket went from £1.10 to £1.30, puts things into context. My junior league match ticket book was £26 for the season!

The rage (quite rightly so) about the way United are pricing tickets these days has had me routing through my old photos and stubs. I’ve found this belter from 1995, I was in my last year of school and schmeichel got the equaliser if I remember correctly. A European game £6:50

@MoaningManc101 Being made redundant next mth after 25 yrs at the same company and having worked several jobs right the way through from leaving uni 30+ years ago and I'm feeling guilty about signing on and getting JSA if I'm not able to go straight into a new role and that's what it's there for

@PubMaverik I've visited the one at Cragside in Northumberland which powers lighting for the house but Lord Armstrong had originally designed the whole house being powered by hydroelectricity, well worth a visit as is that whole coastline

@NotMyDing We call it the "weekly shop" which I seem to be responsible for these days, having taken over from my wife when she had her hips replaced 18 months ago. I'm on first name terms with most of the pensioners in Aldi, it's a bit like Groundhog Day sometimes

The colloquialism of “the big shop” is something I’ve never been able to lower myself to using. It’s not working class, it’s beneath that. It’s somehow servile, not having that.

@jo32192000 I think it's more that he was a "character" and most people knew of him, used to see him in Battman's nursery and the Gardeners Arms alot. Perhaps the statue should be the Alty Scount Master (not seen him for years) Or Sir Graham, a local MP who did look out for his constituency

The market Dave statue crap on Altrincham HQ, he was a horrible bloke who attacked kids, offensive to drivers etc. Revisionism from outsiders.
