During onboarding last week, a new graphic designer mentioned she has severe celiac disease. She politely asked if we could keep a small section of the pantry free from cross-contamination. I told her she deserves complete peace of mind. I ordered a dedicated, locked refrigerator just for her. I also arranged for specialized, gluten-free meals to be delivered to her desk every lunch hour. She was deeply moved. She told me she had never felt so seen and accommodated by an employer. I'm glad she feels supported. To fund this daily catering, I simply reallocated her department's software licensing budget. She currently has no access to Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, or Canva. Her subscriptions were cancelled this morning. She's currently designing our Q3 marketing campaign using Microsoft Paint and a box of colored pencils she found in the supply closet. But at least her quinoa bowls are completely safe.
