The Chair of the Seminole County Republican Party in Florida, Benjamin Paris, has been arrested and charged in relation to election fraud involving fake candidates. Also arrested were a Republican political consultant and the fake candidate. washingtonpress.com/2022/05/24/625…

@CalientesMama @tomaskenn @grantstern You’re welcome! I think the part that got them in trouble was violating campaign finance laws to pay the ghost candidates. It seems like they used fake names for the payments to look like they came from regular donors, when they actually came from people involved in the campaign.

@CalientesMama @tomaskenn @grantstern Basically they’re candidates with no party affiliation who barely campaign and are just put on the ballot (and paid to do this) by one political party to take votes away from the other political party.

@KMScarborough No side effects other than a sore arm with the first two Pfizer doses. With the moderna booster, I had a little bit of arm soreness and the lymph nodes in my underarm were very, very swollen and painful for a few days. But still grateful to be boosted.

I understand the focus on horrific scenarios like a child being raped and impregnated and denied an abortion in Texas, but it’s ok to unapologetically say that safe abortion should always be an option for an adult woman who has an unintended pregnancy from consensual sex.

I keep seeing these “women have to post their trauma again” tweets but the thing is, abortion isn’t inherently traumatic. And we do ourselves a profound disservice perpetuating the idea that it is.
