@TheElmoPelle @erkalanger The food system would already have to be profoundly changed before adding another useless trick.

@erkalanger I firmly believe that the game needs more things like this. New players often go months to even years without fully grasping or understanding mechanics. Sometimes entire features get unnoticed. This isn't always bad but with major things like this, I think it's best to explain.

I’m currently working on the Archaeology feature that goes out in Snapshots and Beta today. I’m interested to know what you think of the interaction with the Suspicious Sand. Does it make sense? Is it intuitive? Is it fun?

@erkalanger the old excavation animation was better, more realistic and immersive... Is there a chance this animation will come back? Honestly I didn't like the new one :(

@erkalanger @JasperBoerstra I just want to make sure that players who aren't following updates can figure it out. I bet player's first instinct is to mine the suspicious sand, so I feel like there needs to be strong negative feedback from doing this. Something that screams "oh, I missing something"

@erkalanger @JasperBoerstra I think it’s a strong start! But it could be improved a lot, for instance there could be more shards and more places to find suspicious blocks, maybe different shards for different biomes?

@erkalanger Maybe giving the brush more uses and adding more places to use it would help keep it relevant? So there's more chances to get to realize it and use it.
Overall the feature has lots of potential and I'm very excited to see how it develops!

@erkalanger @JasperBoerstra I like the archeology system itself, the only things I would change are:
1. Adding copper to the brush crafting recipe.
2. Lower the excavation room in the pyramid by 1 block so that the pillars no longer float in the air after excavation.
