Today our school hosts two assemblies with a focus on Optimism for the month of March. Our student presenters did a great job in our dress rehearsal yesterday. Looking forward to seeing the Primary classes at 12:45 and the Junior and Intermediate classes at 1:10 PM today. @wrdsb

In Our grade 2 class, Mrs. Lonial read a book, "My Big Umbrella". This book talks about friendship, inclusiveness and shelter from the rain. The red umbrella likes to help, likes to give people shelter and likes to bring people together. We discussed it and created umbrella art.

The process of mining with chocolate chip cookies-sign me up! Great learning happens here in Remote Learning School every day!

Today is #WorldAIDSDay, a day to show support for people living with HIV and remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses. This year’s theme is #Equalize. @UNAIDS is urging all of us to address the inequalities which are holding back progress in ending AIDS.

Yesterday while I visited the grade 4/5 class Daniel, David and Matthew taught me about coding and shared their incredible work. Then I went to a grade 5/6 class and an actual video game with 8 levels has been created by a student, he will be sharing it with his classmates soon🥰

Our Intermediates created art with the Fibonacci Sequence. This is the series of numbers: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ... The next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it. The seeds in a sunflower exhibit a golden spiral, which shows this.@wrdsb

Our Remote Learning staff and students participated in our live stream Remembrance Day assemblies today. We reflected on what peace means and the sacrifices others made that support our freedoms in Canada today. The student artwork and readings were an important part of today.

Our Remote Learning students are working hard to prepare the Remembrance Day Assembly for Friday, November 11 we will start at 10:30 AM. We will hold two assemblies one for students in JK-3 and one for students in grades 4-8. #Studentslead

Yesterday our students participated in our monthly assembly introducing the traits of the Elementary Remote Learning School. Once a month we will host with a focus on resilience, efficacy, mindfulness, optimism, thankful, and empathy. Well Done Tabish and Aaron our student hosts!

Today in Remote Learning we are holding two assemblies, one for Kindergarten to Grade 3 students this morning, and one this afternoon for Grades 4-8. Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to show our support for First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples.
