@ApatheticSJW @What23HasDone It's unCanadian for PP to hand the Vaseline to Trump as he presents himself, rather than put him on notice that any tariffs will hurt the US as badly as it's intended to hurt us, as BC, ON, and the Feds have done. Trump wants PP in power, he knows he's a willing patsy. Why else?

Yes, it's inconceivable to hold the PM accountable. Doing so is clearly the result of "misinformation & disinformation". Clearly, a result of a Russian propaganda machine. 🙄 What's un-Canadian about Poilievre's behaviour in relation to Trump's proposed 25% tariff on all Canadian goods?

What Trudeau Has Done
What Trudeau Has Done@What23HasDone·
One thing that has stuck out to me during the 9 years of the Trudeau govt is that the Conservatives will rationalize anything to make Trudeau look horrible and to make their guy look amazing. Rationalizing Poilievre’s unCanadian behaviour with this tariff crisis is one example.

@BrianShoem88931 @What23HasDone @GregsGameReview If that's true then why doesn't Pierre get his security clearance? Why do his monthly expense amount to more than the other parties combined? Why don't you hold him accountable for the same things he accusers others of?

@nejatian @cafreeland "Destroying the livelihood" while boosting sales with 5 to 13% discounts. Math and basic sense not your strong suit so much as pretending outrage.

BREAKING NEWS: 6 hours before the GST/HST holiday is set to begin, CFIB confirms with government that it is NOT mandatory for businesses to participate: "This measure is now law. We expect businesses to comply with the new rules, but we don’t intend to chase after small businesses that may struggle to implement the measure in time. There remain pathways for businesses and all Canadians to obtain their GST relief on qualifying goods through the CRA." My interpretation of this is: 1. Government wants everyone to offer the holiday, but no business is required to do so. 2. If a business decides to continue to collect the GST/HST on eligible goods to avoid the administrative challenges, it must remit the tax revenue to the CRA as normal. 3. Consumers AND businesses that have paid the GST/HST on eligible goods can go to the CRA for a refund. 4. Competitive pressure will push most retailers and restaurants into participating anyway. They won't want to risk losing a sale to the neighbouring biz that is participating. 5. Many manufacturers and distributors (like PepsiCo) will not participate, which will cause cash flow issues for small business owners. What a mess!

@Chronotope Titles were (as far as I know) always subject to change. Coles or LL Bean would reprint a title and add their name, or for perrenials like style guides you simply see Title: xth Edition. Still an interesting observation.

I'm playing with the Kindle API and it is very weird to me that apparently they just change some of the book titles some times. You'd think that would be a stable identifier for a book published before the internet existed.

#CollabTalk A7: Copilot won't transform business right away but LLMs are changing things already. It's a language engine. Better automated customer service. Better generated code.

#CollabTalk A3: Key roadblocks to GenAI are expectations vs reality. Copilot is a great conversation engine but don't expect it to reason. It's okay querying raw data, but don't expect it to read charts and diagrams in PDFs.

#CollabTalk A2: The standard answer here is permission reviews and a Search Center to check that content is appropriately secured, and then Purview / DLP as a backstop to throw nets over broad content areas, with a healthy dose of SharePoint Advanced Management.

#CollabTalk: In every conference I've attended btw - everyone's talking about how to use GenAI, how to build, what licenses you need, while no one was providing a decent mental model of how an LLM or GenAI solution like Copilot actually works. So that's where I start.
