They say "don't meet your heroes", but they're wrong. Von Hayes was cooler than cool. He introduced himself and asked my name. Clearly he doesn't know I'm his biggest fan and most over the top supercollector... probably for the best. 😅

PJ's Skybox equivalent in the same grade is selling for around $60 (not my card). This is the PSA 10 Dream Team set I did collect in recent years.

Sharing my big eBay win of the week/year... Bought in June 2020 for $12.99. Sold in April 2026 for $320.00. Decided not to try to put the set together, but someone out there is clearly doing it: PJ Carlesimo 1991-92 Hoops Dream Team in a @PSAcard 10.

Upgraded my Chase Utley rookie card this week. It is now on display in the nerdatorium next to Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard and Cole Hamels.

Happy opening day! Over here I am excited to complete a 75 year old Phillies team set. Richie Ashburn was the last card I needed for the 1951 Berk Ross set - distributed attached to Bob Cousy's rookie.

@bradpackbooks I have never met a bigger Von Hayes fan. This first cabinet and bat rack is all #9... signed cards/SLUs, game used practice jersey, hat, batting glove, Topps contract, bobbleheads, a rack of PSA 10s, etc.

Anyone familiar with The Wax Pack knows that my favorite baseball player was Don Carman. Did you have a favorite player growing up who was not a star?
