Here’s the global intubation checklist card (GAS Card) in use with my co-developer @lofoporp,in Zambia. The cards are being embedded within @SAFE_courses in low & middle income countries,to help make emergency anaesthesia safer. @wfsaorg @Assoc_Anaes @dasairway @KidsOperating

Lots of talk about how the #NHS should be re-organised. Nothing about how that will impact the wellbeing of the workforce. The NHS is the people who deliver the care & after Covid they’re in pretty poor shape. If you don’t recover them you’ll never be able to recover the service.

@morefluids I worked somewhere that did once. You had to stay in recovery until the patient was extubated & you could extubate in theatres if you wanted to… On the whole, apart from seeming v strange it worked well. The recovery nurses extubated beautifully, safely and patiently.

Any units have patients extubated by recovery nurses in UK? I've heard of one, was quite surprised.
