@brake_robert @thenitinsawhney @mrjamesob According to his R4 interview yesterday he is a business and that’s why the lowly current account he was offered by NatWest is no good. I presume by that he means he needs to maximise the tax breaks of any donations he gets from his cronies.

We currently have the U.K. Prime minister and Home Secretary, both of immigrant heritage, taking time out of their schedules to support an established racist on social media (anyone who questions that description, please listen to his radio interview with @mrjamesob a few years back where he was literally exposed as such) over his account being closed down by a highly exclusive bank. They have apparently done so in the name of “free speech”. Can you imagine the PM or Cruella intervening, commenting or suggesting a clampdown on banks if you or I, or even a “politically outspoken” celebrity like Gary Lineker, were refused an account with a bank that is openly highly selective about its clientele? So why are they getting involved to support this vile man? Perhaps we should consider how much of the current govt’s xenophobic rhetoric plays to exactly the same mentality that gave the reviled far right NF initials of the 70’s a new lease of life through one hateful man.

@PaulPd171773 @flamingginge @fedupofSuffolk @thenitinsawhney @mrjamesob I listened to NF on the radio yesterday and he agreed he was offered a NatWest current account. He’s been out of the news for a few months and is terrified of being irrelevant. He’s quite happy for people to be refused access to businesses when it suits his agenda

@zygradel @RosieisaHolt Mr Farage was happy to support a bakery in Ireland refusing to serve someone because of their views. Presumably this is different because (a) he thinks we should all agree with his views and (b) he’ll do anything to be in the news again as otherwise he’ll have to get a proper job

@Nickvilla20 @edmundmlawrence @johnredwood You know that 1/3 managers in the NHS are actually clinicians who take on managerial responsibility and that compared to private business there is a significantly lower percentage of mangers in the NHS don’t you? I’m sure you didn’t just believe what you read in the Daily Mail.

@edmundmlawrence @johnredwood A lot of taxpayer money is wasted especially in local councils and the NHS. Maybe get rid of all these managers and council CEOs who are pulling six figures every year. These services all need auditing before you throw more money at them.

Good to hear Liz has plans to help get more people into work. They will be better off, and the large benefits bill will come under better control. We need lower taxes, higher incomes for the many and fewer needing benefits. That's a practical and positive vision.

@hu22024798 @SarahC2612 I don’t think it’s just money. My own Force (a long way from SE) is seeing unprecedented numbers go early as well. Experienced officers are frustrated and worn down, and new officers feel abandoned and out of their depth because there is no experience to support them.

@SarahC2612 It would be interesting to see whether the police leavers are spread equally across the UK or concentrated in SE England where the cost of living is highest, I have heard recent anecdotal reports of intakes of 70+ new officers being down to 17 left after 2 years.

The figures are out and despite official attempts to play down this crisis, numbers of police officers voluntary resigning are up 72% on a year ago and staggeringly up by almost 200% on a decade ago. Retention must become a priority to tackle this exodus and needs to ... (1/3)

@GeordieChris4 @nikefootball No one makes you watch it. The level of promotion is to make up for the 50years where women weren’t even allowed to use FA accredited grounds & there was no investment. Why were they banned? Because the fragile male egos in the FA were concerned by the crowds they were drawing.

@TarikAtakan1907 @AwayFromTheKeys @RamshawJanice @sophielouisecc It's only been removed from library cafeteria. 37 different colleges make up Cambridge University. For example, Trinity College cafeteria includes black pudding sausages & bacon on their breakfast menu. I suggest you reduce the tabloids in your media diet.

@brianmoore666 I’ve felt for sometime that her team secretly can’t stand her and love to watch her fall flat on her face. Why else would they let her say the things she comes out with.

Nadine Dorries lack of basic facts- 3 possibilities - 1. Her staff do not brief her properly, in which case she should have made changes immediately. 2. They do brief her, but she either doesn't read or remember their notes. 3. She is very thick None of these are acceptable.

@sophielouisecc What the conversation that talks about how all the credible evidence shows that immigration has a net positive impact on our economy and without it the NHS would collapse due to the high percentage of roles occupied by migrants?

@sophielouisecc No that’s why we shouldn’t depend on fossil fuels that we have to import from other countries meaning we are subjected to impact of global changes in the fuel market, and can be held to ransom by the likes of Putin.

@esdorcs @JammersMinde I didn't say there was a law I said it was permissable in public toilets. However, I should have made it clear that by public toilets I meant council run toilets and not toilets run by businesses.

@stevejhenry22 @WFHPoros @LanceForman @JuliaHB1 Yes all those things impact us much more than them because Dover is a our main route to the whole of the EU and beyond. They have many other supply lines. The only trade this holds up for them is trade with us.

@esdorcs @WFHPoros @LanceForman @JuliaHB1 Wow, you’re misunderstanding as to how it all works is incredible. You seem to think the single market operates in isolation. Not just many facets of EU/U.K. trade to consider, also, supply chain issues, freight transport falling behind schedule, drivers idle for most of day etc!

See, it's not Brexit, it's a choice. Portugal welcomes Brits by allowing us to use their e-gates. Let's spend our time and money with our friends in Portugal instead of the countries that don't appear to want us.
Antonello Guerrera@antoguerrera

Sorry if this may disappoint someone, but I have just arrived at Heathrow, terminal 5. Super smooth. Time to get out and get through the border: literally 39 SECONDS. I wish France and other European countries would allow e-gates for UK citizens as UK does for EU citizens. 🇬🇧🇪🇺

@GoCryElsewhere @katrussen @HEheatingwarks @DeborahMeaden No, the Port of Dover Authority asked for £33m to upgrade the infrastructure on our side in light of the anticipated extra checks required because of Brexit. The delays etc were predicted in the gvts own paperwork on Brexit but they refused to pay the money.

@JonWrong9 @SarahTrain6 @JuliaHB1 Spending more on staffing a border crossing to allow the same number of people and goods through is making them money? How exactly?

@stevejhenry22 @top_bananas @WFHPoros @LanceForman @JuliaHB1 Yes & the drop has increased in rate because of border issues & increased bureaucracy. As imports of parts & goods drop it impacts our ability to manufacture & therefore what we have available for export. Bringing things in from RoW is much more expensive than thro EU pre-Brexit
