Thank you so much everyone for your incredibly kind messages 🥹 Got through the surgery and look what was waiting for me when I got home…from my @espn family ❤️ I’m with Mom and Dad now, and my sister stayed with me through the night. Lot of pain, but even more gratitude. 🙏

I wanted to wait until after the game so I could give it my full attention, but I’m having back surgery tomorrow. I did everything I could to buy time until after the season but I’ve exhausted all other options, and the longer I wait, the more I run the risk of permanent nerve damage. I’m not sure when I’ll be back, but a big thank you to those who got word already and have sent well wishes ❤️ THANK YOU! I’m immensely grateful to you, to my family, my colleagues at ESPN, the Bucs and to my fellow reporters on the beat here in Tampa. I’ll be back.

Was just with Steve at Tiger’s event in the Bahamas. Was doing his best to try and get better. Just last week we texted and I asked how he was doing. “Not great but I feel worse when reading one of your stories.” Nobody took more grief - and dished it out - than Dimegs. One of a kind.
