Today I was invited to speak at the @universityappg by @UniversitiesUK about my experience of being a parent while studying but more importantly about the way that Universal Credit works for parents who are in university.

Changing a school day to finish 15 minutes earlier may not seem like an issue but it adds extra financial burden on parents and restrict older siblings from collecting siblings. Will also add to increased traffic in the area. Staff are important but so are the families 🙄

Trying to pack for 4 kids to go on holiday is a stress that I am used to. Trying to pack for 3 teenagers, 1 preteen and myself to go abroad is so ridiculous. I broke it to them that all liquids need to go in suitcases, the panic that followed was mad. Also I know nothing 🙄

You know when you have been off work for 2 weeks on annual leave and you get nervous or anxious going back to work? Now times the amount of time off by 3 add a new working day and line manager in to the mix. How would you feel. Of course your first day back may not go smoothly.

Can we please stop using the term 'hard to reach' no one is hard to reach. They may be hard for you and your organisation but they are different to engage, seldom heard or similar. Hard to reach tells me you are not willing to do better to hear the voices.
