We head to Cuba later this week as part of an international solidarity group to bring critical medical aid for the Cuban people. 🇨🇺 🇮🇪 To everyone who has assisted us gathering it, GRMA, we will travel with over 200kg of critical medicines. As the Taoiseach heads to Washington to shake the hand of a war monger, we'll be in Cuba where the island is being strangled and starved by the man who'll be handed shamrock.

I saw many bodies...I retrieved the bodies and handed them to their family members’ he said.  The monastery’s administrator explained, that the monastery’s spiritual leader (Meri Geta), religious students and an elderly woman who had gone to the monastery carrying an offering for a memorial service marking the anniversary of a deceased “had their legs and hands severed” and the parish security lost their “eyes and legs.”  …. The monastery’s administrator said “we retrieved their bodies in pieces. We did not find their bodies intact” he said.  “The militants in this area do not have these types of weapons, nor could they possess them” said eyewitnesses who said the attack was likely carried out by “security forces” in the area.”

Three generations were brutally murdered at once. A grandfather, a son, and a grandson were killed because they were #Amhara. The incident occurred in the #Ethiopia Oromia region of Wollega. A government-sponsored, covert genocide targeting Amharas is underway. @AmnestyEARO @AAA_Amhara @hrw

The shelling caused widespread panic at the monastery, forcing religious students and residents in the area to flee. Several victims reportedly suffered severe injuries, including amputations. Local sources described the attack as part of a pattern of violence targeting Amhara communities and religious institutions in the region. Ethiopia: 34 Orthodox Christians have been killed in the Arsi, Oromia region. Eight others remain hospitalized. Another eight are missing. Two were kidnapped. These Christians were murdered by an ethno-nationalist group called the Oromo Liberation Army and is part of an ongoing pattern in the region. The motivation behind the attacks is ethnic as much as it is religious, yet it is Christians who keep getting killed. The OLA employs terrorism to pursue an independent Oromo state and frequently targets the Amhara tribe, many of whom are Orthodox Christians. Many have condemned these killings and we add our voice to theirs. Pray for the Christians of Ethiopia.

@yaboyabz @SenaitSenay So what your advocating for is for Amharas and even Tigrayans to suffer in silence, while the rest of the country turns the other way? Chaos without Abiy at its centre is actually beneficial for Amharas.

@SenaitSenay He is not a unifying figure, but he has consolidated power, and if he is removed, a vacuum would form with no clear successor. Unlike before, there is far greater interest in the region, meaning global actors would likely fuel and intensify the conflict.

Some people are so shortsighted. I get there have been injustices towards Amharas but to wish this upon Ethiopia?
Senait Senay, PhD@SenaitSenay

This.......but for #Ethiopia! It would have been immensely justified! We would have even made US the honorary ally of our #Adwa victory retrospectively....why? Because the current Ethiopian regime is threatening to uproot everything we stood for for millennia...because they are eradicating the indigenous people of Ethiopia systematically. A wish....for rapid victory... enji I know Amhara fanos will make taking back our country a reality.

Seven people were critically injured and an unknown number remain missing, raising fears the death toll may rise. Witness accounts claim the attackers targeted residents based on religious identity and operated with support or tolerance from local state structures, while also reportedly maintaining connections with regional jihadist groups including Al-Shabaab and ISIS. The incident triggered panic, displacement, and heightened security fears across surrounding communities.

The Chief Administrator of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church’s Horo Guduru Wollega Zone Diocese, Melake Edom Priest Duguma, along with other diocesan staff and youth association members, had traveled to Harato Mariam—located under the diocese and near Shambu town—to celebrate the annual feast of St. Mary. While returning after celebrating the holiday, they were abducted by an armed group known as OLA. The abduction took place in the evening of November 30, 2025, as they were returning to Shambu town, the administrative center of the zone, after the celebration. Among those abducted, members of the youth associations and other woreda-level church staff were later released. However, the following day, the Chief Administrator of the Diocese, Melake Edom Priest Duguma, and another diocesan leader, Priest Desalegn Nemomsa, were killed. Mereb media sources reported that their bodies were subsequently sent to their families.

About the "Amhara historical claim" on territories, what exact period does it refer to? Is there a map with precise boundaries? Or is it a mirage—expandable based on convenience? Last time, it spanned from Western #Tigray to Assab port, from Addis to Harar city. #Ethiopia #Amhara
