Grotesque No. 4 (1912) by Miller & Richard. Such a lively grotesque! The large spur on ‘a’, the tapered terminal on ‘e’, the large apex on ‘t’, the high-waisted ‘P’ and ‘R’! Wonderful. Such an ugly ‘f’, though. From ‘Printing Type Specimens’ (Miller & Richard, ca. 1921)

Leslie Hardcastle, my father-in-law, died this morning in Soho. An OBE, cultured, kind, and generous man, he was a wonderful grandfather. He was controller of @BFI, founder member of @SohoAssociation, and VP of @sohosocietyw1 We're so sad.
