You skip 30% of the words when reading a text. And in 2011, a government survey found 14.9% of adults in England have a reading age of around 9 to 11 years. So to convey important information in a way that *everyone* can understand - stick to plain English and short sentences.

Did you know that most of us read in an “F” shape online? We read most of the first line or two, do a second horizontal scan to look for key points, then do a vertical scan to understand the overall gist of the content. So key info needs to be at the top and in headings!

I think the world needs more zebras! Unlike unicorn startups with their potential for exponential growth, zebra companies have slower growth targets. But they balance scalability against commitments to a social or environmental cause. That's my kind of equine animal!
