The impact of the #Sudan conflict is spanning across the region. Almost 1 year into the war and we’re seeing no signs that the number of families fleeing across borders will slow. The children & women who are crossing to #SouthSudan & #Chad are arriving hungry with no resources.

On 24 December two @save_children staff members were murdered in Myanmar with other civilians. On 28 December UNHCR confirmed that a staff member was killed in Ethiopia. As many worldwide pause for holidays, these are tragic reminders that wars and violence never stop killing.

I recently met with refugees & displaced Ethiopians in the Tigray and Amhara regions. They spoke of suffering and a deep desire for normalcy to return. @UNHCREthiopia and partners are providing some services, under challenging conditions. But lasting solutions are needed most.

@Tsionawit_ I've noticed that almost everything that I find beautiful in ET culture, is what needs to be reduced to fight C19. It is an enormous challenge. Until people are personally impacted, it doesn't seem real to many.

@ethiochi Definitely. Our diverse children need to see themselves in the adults around them. And because our racial backgrounds bring diverse narratives and perspectives, what our kids are listening to and are immersed currently is a white narrative.
