Experts gathered at “The Role of Philanthropy in Humanitarian and Human Rights Interventions” breakout session to ponder the current state of humanitarianism and discuss the optimal use of philanthropic funding to address the most pressing issues. The event took place on May 9, 2024, as part of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Forum in Los Angeles, California. We did it! Thanks to the international org and resettlement agency partners, welcoming American communities, and the @StatePRM team who made it possible to bring the most refugees out of harm’s way to 🇺🇸 since 1994.

@CaritasNigeria 3/3: With support from the Resettlement team, RefugePoint conducted a partner onboarding mission, during which we trained 24 Caritas Nigeria staff to identify and refer cases for resettlement.

2/3: A new partnership with @CaritasNigeria refers refugees experiencing vulnerabilities for resettlement to the U.S. Caritas Nigeria joins a growing network of NGOs that strive to expand equitable access to resettlement by identifying and bridging gaps in refugee resettlement.

1/3: In addition to helping refugees relocate to safety through direct services, we -Host trainings -Develop and share tools to enhance capacity across our partners -Make policy recommendations to improve global systems related to resettlement and other pathways to safety.

This past quarter, several Experts went on missions to interview refugees where there is little or no resettlement infrastructure. These missions promoted equitable access and resulted in resettlement submissions for at-risk refugees in Benin, Namibia, Nigeria, and DRC.

RefugePoint’s UN Collaboration Project (UNCP) is on track for another record-breaking year. In 2024, our Experts have already supported nearly 14,000 individuals in 32 countries to access pathways to safety. Visit bit.ly/RefugePoint-20… to see more.
