#EurECCA releases a Position Paper, calling for strengthened regulations to safeguard the rights & conditions of European cabin crews. We emphasize the urgent need for enhanced legislation in aviation, to avoid legislative shopping & erosion of work conditions. We urge for a Directive specifically for aircrews, akin to the road transport one in 2020, & want to align our efforts with the Directive on improving platform work conditions. #EurECCA highlights the need to revise Regulation 1008/2008 due to its implications on issues like wet-leasing & posting rules. Without action, we risk aviation moving towards the maritime model, destabilizing the EU market. 📣✈️ New Directive Needed for Aircrew Health & Safety! EurECCA's latest position paper demands a dedicated Directive on Health & Safety for aircrews under Article 16 of Framework Directive 89/391/EEC. Cabin crews face unique challenges that require tailored protection & prevention services, as per Council Directive 2000/79/EC. EurECCA urges the European Commission to propose this individual Directive, involve stakeholders, & set up a strong monitoring & enforcement mechanism.
