@MaxFagin @smartereveryday @planet4589 I agree, and came here to say this. 0.1 degrees at 135 meters puts the object at 77km [~180*135m/(0.1*pi)]. At the angular speed @planet4589 mentioned (0.5 degrees/0.5 second), that is 1300m/s... very curious

@smartereveryday I was pleased to hear @planet4589 affirm my first impression that this was a satellite, but the overlay of the two videos proves it can't be a satellite. A ~0.1° shift from two observers only 135m apart definitely puts this object inside the atmosphere. x.com/MaxFagin/statu…

How is it that time already? I am going to be applying to postdocs this cycle and would love to share my work with y'all, if you'd have me! I spend my time modeling core-collapse supernovae and predicting light curves, GRRMHD code development, and upcoming collapsar work!

The next Galactic #supernova — which will be a multimessenger treasure trove of neutrinos and gravitational waves (hopefully!) — will likely come from a red supergiant listed somewhere in this new catalog by S. Healy I’m excited to be associated with. arxiv.org/abs/2307.08785
