ETF flows are only one piece of the price puzzle. When spot Bitcoin ETFs see redemptions, the funds do sell BTC into the market, but that selling gets absorbed if other buyers step in. And that's exactly what happened. The spark was Fed Chair Kevin Warsh signaling that inflation risks have declined. That lit a fire under rate cut expectations, lifting Bitcoin, gold, and equities together. Meanwhile, after June's record $4.5 billion in outflows (the worst month since the ETFs launched), sellers were exhausted. Shorts built up for weeks, sentiment sat at Extreme Fear, and when the macro news flipped, it triggered a cascade of short covering and leverage unwinds. That amplified the bounce well beyond what fresh spot buying alone could do. Think of it less as a trend reversal and more as a positioning driven relief rally. ETF flows dominate headlines, but price is the net result of all activity: spot, futures, OTC, corporate treasuries, global participants. Right now the most profitable traders remain very bearish and overall market mood is still bearish. Outflows even continued on the green day. Sustained upside would need ETF flows to stabilize or turn positive alongside supportive economic data. Divergences between flows and price like this are classic at turning points, even if only temporary ones.

BITCOIN RISES DESPITE ETF OUTFLOWS Bitcoin climbed above $60,000, but spot Bitcoin ETFs continued to see net outflows, totaling $296 million on Wednesday. Crypto sentiment improved as CoinMarketCap's Fear & Greed Index rose from "Extreme Fear" to "Fear." Ethereum, XRP, and Solana also posted solid gains to start the third quarter.
