@emollick There’s also the risk having the model silently update to be explicitly more politically engaged. Reliability is as valuable as capability when you’re considering customer facing tools.

Based on the announcement (& not using the model, yet):
1) X has caught up with the frontier of released models VERY quickly, if they continue to scale this fast, they are a major player
2) Grok 3 is closely following the OpenAI playbook
3) Not sure who will use API at this point

@WillRinehart Competition regulators are so poor at their jobs they seem to measure anticompetitive behaviour purely by market share. Apple is far worse in this regard, you can’t even ship a substantially different browser!

I’m with others in thinking this is a really bad move. But it makes logical sense for the DOJ. They are trying to open the Overton window of enforcement. But I’m not sure that’s what we want in an antitrust enforcer.

In my book I wrote that the cost of really getting how to use AI is three sleepless nights.
If you haven’t had at least a minor crisis (What does this mean for my job? What does it mean for my kids’ jobs? What does it mean to think?) you probably haven’t used AI enough.

@KathrynTewson @irl_danB @donotpay @CimphonyAI Do they offer any end to end automated services similar to do not pay? I think they like the internal efficiency, which allows them to accrue more work, but anything that practices law in a way that competes is a different question. Maybe I’m wrong, but the incentives are there.
