I would like to confirm that I have recently stepped down from my role as Parliamentary Advisor to Endometriosis South Coast.
It was not a decision taken lightly, but one I believe is in the best interests of myself, the charity, and the vital work it does in supporting those living with endometriosis.
I wish the organisation and everyone it serves well.

@ThomasWillett9 they need to make sure the next person to hold this role actually has endometriosis, that's the most important qualification to be a parliamentary advisor to a health charity. really serious endometriosis preferably. best to perform exploratory surgery on candidates to be sure

In addition this being a huge red flag, you should teach children, early on, to be honest with their doctors. Make them feel
comfortable to ask questions they might be too embarrassed to ask you! Even in the most open families, kids can be embarrassed to ask their parents things!

I took my 11 year old to her checkup this morning and the nurse asked me to step out of the room for a moment. I politely declined and she said, "It's just for a moment." And I told her, "No thank you, given all the stories about children being abused my husband and I decided to never leave our children alone with anyone, even medical providers. Anything you need to do or say you can do with me in the room." She looked all miffed and just left, no idea what her plan was but she didn't feel the need to continue it with me present and that makes me even more suspicious?? When she left my daughter thanked me for not leaving, she's already shy about the doctor, her eyes got so wide when the lady asked me to leave.

If a doctor is suspecting abuse, they have to report it to competent authorities.

Actually, that’s false.
30-40% of children are abused by a family member.
50% are abused by people they know, meaning anything from a teacher, a coach, a family friend to the freaking nurse you want to let your kid alone with to virtue signal how trusting and inclusive you are.
