First film made by a women director in Slovenia was in 2002. We now have a special scheme to support first films so that beginners do not have to compete with established directors. Hopefully things are changing, said Sonia Prosenc @ewawomen

#Cannes2024 Sonja Prosenc, film director, Slovenia, explained that during communist era, men and women were considered equal, and she grew up with this feeling, but when she entered the film sector, it was a chock.
