Today I officially retire from SYP as Rotherham Commander and I have never been more proud. Officers and staff are the very best, matched only by the public we serve daily. I have great memories and met great people. It’s been an absolute privilege! Now time for family holidays.

As I start my final week in service, great to get out to #Skegness and some patrol time with the NPT. I’ve worn many hats with different responsibilities during my service but today was a first with this one. 😁

So my cancer journey continues. Tomorrow I start my radiotherapy. A little apprehensive. Staying positive. I have great support around me. Here we go.......... Received this very gorgeous and thoughtful box of goodies today from my netball family x

Folks, with so much support shown in the last couple of hours it is only right I update u. Family all told, so now I can tweet. Experts met today, definitely “No Chemo”😁 What a rollercoaster of a week. I’m so fortunate and so happy 🥰

Inspector Abdul Aziz. Now retired after a fantastic career in SYP. Az has done a sterling job in both Sheffield and Rotherham. He has worked in many roles while saving lives, playing cricket for the force and delivering top class victim care. Thanks for all you have done Az!!

This time last year I joined SY Police in Rotherham District. It has been a fantastic 12 months working alongside some of the best officers I have ever met. Unfortunately, due to unexpected health matters, I will now be off for a while, but hopefully back ASAP😊
