It is absolutely astounding the incompetent analysis of the professional debunker/cult members. A 5th grader would easily identify that the debunker explanations for this are an absolute joke. What's more is the fact that Mick West is hiding. What a coward's way out. Debunking is coordinated disinformation and Mick and a handful of others are clearly guiding it.

This is a much better version than the original previously released by Corbel. If this object is interacting with the clouds it likely eliminates parallax & lens flare as possible causes - strongly implying that 90 degree turn is in fact a 90 degree turn. Any theories?

My sentiment is partially attributable to how i see ppl in sf treat me *completely* differently when i present w my industry role vs my faculty role at cmu, over the past year. There is even slight disdain for academics sometimes w ppl acting like u are an idiot if u say u want to return to an academic role. So much judgement…

Tbh i’m kinda sick of this academic doomerism vibe consuming all of bay area and the self-aggrandizing pov that frontier labs have. Sure a lot of exciting stuff is happening but we wouldn’t be where we are wo academia & there is sth to be said about the pursuit of curiosity.

I disagree with @beffjezos here. Finishing a PhD is not about collecting a title. It is about bringing hard, uncertain work to a level of completion. And research itself is not a relic. Maxwell wasn’t chasing market cap. Faraday wasn’t building a startup. They were trying to understand nature. A lot of technology is a byproduct of that curiosity. Many may not know, but I started my career in experimental high-energy physics at Fermilab because I wanted to understand the universe. In fundamental science, the pursuit of truth is the point. And some people enjoy doing so with their time.
