I’m curious, are there still Rockets fans out there wishing they trade for Giannis?
I still can’t imagine them bringing him in while having a group around him that is incapable of giving him the space to excel at the rim.
The pairing doesn’t make sense to me.

The reaction to the KD trade continues to hinge on the misdiagnosis of Jalen Green the basketball player.
If you believe he’s this uber talented basketball player the Rockets prematurely quit on, then yeah the Rockets messed up here.
The reality is Jalen Green had 4 seasons and a playoff series to show us any reason why we should build with him in mind, and we got nothing but spontaneous flashes, not a franchise altering talent.
Perhaps he figures it out in PHX, but let’s acknowledge we are going on year 6 asking for him to post just ONE season of league average efficiency. Literally EVERY other player of his archetype who went onto become a star in this league had already broken out by year 3.

I’d honestly just stay the course right now. If FVV and Adams are back, that’s a 55+ win team next year with probably minimal KD slippage. Fred masks Ime’s weaknesses. Replace DFS, Clint, Tate etc. and get an actual bench with high upside youth rather than cheerleaders for vibes. Let Alpi/Amen/Bari/Reed continue to grow and take your shot with the picks coming in ‘27. Tari is probably gone in a S&T.
Yeah, the mix with Alpi and Amen is severely flawed but I’m at a point where I’d rather just roll the dice on improvement rather than the alternatives (ie: aging Giannis, Anthony Davis). It just feels pointless to cash in all the assets to shorten the window even more.

Solid ball-handler (nothing special but good enough for this roster). Great size for the position. Excellent defender. Average 3P shooter (36% career). Doesn't turn the ball over. Only makes $7M. Last year of his deal.
