@JamesGurd Yes. It's all part of the huge cartel that is the financial services industry. Of course as the outlook changes the risk of being tied into an unprofitable loan increases, but don't they just rip the arse out of it! And they collude to keep cost of mortgages high

Can anyone explain why, when the BoE raises interest rates sharply (now up to 2.25%), mortgage rates go up disproportionately higher than savings accounts, making us worse off? Is it just financial company profiteering?
