@ovh_support_fr LATE REPLY HERE. Not one listened, so I quitted, and joined another firm. No one refunded me anything, after the probs. - only a credit, which only could be used for OVH-services... I had moved on, cause no-one could tell me about the storage-situation, before it was too late.

@OVHcloud Two tickets created - not a single human answer. Copy/paste replies, not anything related to my situation. Where are my refund? No-one was clear about my situation for days, so I moved company. Therefore, I've asked for a refund for X months instead.. #noautoreplyplease

@exetico @olesovhcom As wrote already. Of course we have backups in another city but need hardware and it takes time to setup as well as we need our Asian Licensor. OVH stated if you need it quicker online as tomorrow we should order new hardware. We did that and the result is we are still waiting

We have a major incident on SBG2. The fire declared in the building. Firefighters were immediately on the scene but could not control the fire in SBG2. The whole site has been isolated which impacts all services in SGB1-4. We recommend to activate your Disaster Recovery Plan.

@626Corp @coddyn1 @olesovhcom I think you got my point already, so let's not take it any further. I only trying to say that most people think that a backup, is more than just a copy in the same rack - or close to it. Personally I use snapshots or backups, but also offline dumps, too :-)...

@exetico @coddyn1 @olesovhcom Sure, using marketing names like os-sbg1 when the servers are literally in SBG2 is a no go, but did they really said, the backups are in another DC on every single backup solution/product? If yes, their fault. If not, well, noone expects such a disaster, right?

@tanguyPel @olesovhcom Thanks! All good, here. I'm in control and powered by even more cores, compared to OVH's plans 💪😁. With that said, I only thought the 6 months was credits to the OVH-accouing - but a refund in general. If so, that's great news. Spend all the money on 3-2-1 backups 🥳!

@exetico @olesovhcom There's a "6 times your February invoice for that service", we should know more in the next few days. I went back with OVH but doubled down on the VPS. Will also have a local (ie : the server in my living room) backup. Hope you're able to get back to normal! All the best.

@626Corp @coddyn1 @olesovhcom I mostly accepts your answers, Stitch, but this one are a bit to rude? I've local backups, too. But I fully understand that most people thinks that online backup-options provided by OVH is located in other DC/location. With that said: 3-2-1 backup are always the way to go.

@mikepleonard @olesovhcom +1 for snapshot location. I've already moved my things away, cause no-one can tell if my snapshot are okay, or not. Hopefully OVH will compensate something, even if the customer has left the company...

@tanguyPel @olesovhcom ^ I actually decided to spin up a fresh VPS on OVH, but I simpy couldn't wait for a official email... I spotted that the performance was better in a few other companies, and decided to give it a try. If OVH could match the price to performance, I would stick to them, for sure🙂.

@tanguyPel @olesovhcom Yes, that's sad. Yesterday I moved away from OVH, cause no-one could tell if the snapshot was 'safe', and if the IP could be moved. I'll try Hetzner Cloud, and see. PM me for ref. code, if someone would like a bit of discount... I hope OVH will provide some kind of refund.

@DMP64288760 @olesovhcom I bet the data is gone. 'os' stands for 'openstack'. So os-sbg1-006 will be a rack/cluster in openstack-sbg1. bit.ly/3rC9YJw states that 'openstack-sbg1' was physically in DC SBG2. I think you need to spin up a fresh VPS - but hopefully OVH are contacting us very soon?
