I'm stepping away from Hyper this month. Over the last four years, we've grown Hyper into one of the top apps for avatar creators. The idea was simple: at the rate VTubers were growing, avatar content creation could be the first mainstream use-case for avatars—something people have tried to build online for decades. We rode the wave from peak lockdown metaverse mania back down to normalcy. It's clear that Hyper won't scale into a larger venture-sized business. Instead of shutting things down, we're keeping the app available offline for the million+ creators who've used Hyper to build digital identities. Even now, over 15,000 new VTubers are created on Hyper each month, and it’s always rewarding to see our users out in the wild. We hope Hyper continues to be a valuable resource for them. Thanks to the team for every late night spent supporting our creators, and to the creators who trusted Hyper as their avatar platform. I'll be back soon with new projects.
