this might ruffle some feathers, but bear with me. i’ve been trading on @HyperliquidX since 2023, caught the tge airdrop, and clocked ~$50M in total volume across accounts trading by my hands using no bots. not whale-level, but not small for an individual. HL is literally where I won big, so I have zero hate for the community. now I’m trading on both HL and @PhoenixTrade. i actually think we don't necessarily need one to 'kill' the other, but I absolutely want to see @PhoenixTrade secure a top-tier position in the perp sector because: (1) ux & onboarding: builder code apps ease the onboarding process but for depositing directly to HyperCore, it's still friction-heavy and takes too many steps to park your funds. Solana does this seamlessly, especially with how universally CEXs support direct Solana rails today. (2) Solana ecosystem growth: plain and simple, i'm building on Solana, i believe that Solana will welcome the next generation of consumer apps, so i want to see Solana win in the perp sector. that said, my question is what’s the ultimate goal of a 'competition' like this? if it’s just for social exposure, fair enough. but at the end of the day, i want to see deeper features on Phoenix, like more equity perps or pre-IPO equity perps with great orderbook built with Solana's speed and better liquidity. @vibhu if you ever do a round 2, I’d love to jump in for a friendly matchup. let's friendly battle on PnL and transaction count. best way to stress-test the engine and show exactly how much volume Phoenix can handle.

@vnovakovski @aaalexhl Let me run the matching sequencer for it permissionlessly

Does a pro trader from Hyperliquid want to have a competition with me (non-trader/notable idiot) tomorrow on @PhoenixTrade? I deposit $10k, you deposit $10k Best P&L at end of day gets $1k from the other Public wallet obviously

One powerful aspect of $ORE is the long-term oriented culture emerging within its core community. Like with any new asset, the volatility has been extreme (and will continue for years) and tourists filter in & out of the Discord. But that volatility seems to be forging a group of diehard believers. You can see this long-term mindset in how many whales play the mining game: accumulating unrefined ORE, staking, and keeping rewards unclaimed to compound yield over time. Under the hood, the Ore protocol itself is even designed to incentivize/retain long-term holders as opposed to short-term players. That stands in stark contrast to the memecoin culture that has dominated much of the Solana ecosystem over the past few years: Pumpfun dopamine hits, the deployer industrial complex, historical token hold times average around 30 seconds, etc. I think there is definitely a place for trench warfare, but I don't know if its sustainable for the dominant behavior to become chasing volatility rather than building long-term conviction. I thought for a bit that BONK could grow into being the culture/SoV asset of the Solana eco, but unfortunately it seems like it was consumed by the same short-term speculative culture. The culture around ORE (both top down and bottom up) feels much closer to early Bitcoin. Bitcoiners often talked about adopting a “low time preference”, the idea of prioritizing long-term value creation and delayed gratification over immediate consumption/quick profits. @OREsupply feels like one of the first communities on Solana attempting to rebuild that mindset: a grassroots coin more culturally aligned with the founders/developers who actually make the network economically valuable. Exit the trenches and enter the mines. ⛏️
