So did anyone learning 3D ever get told that "pipeshoving" is bad practice and you should work from a single contiguous mesh as much as possible? Cos I was taught that when learning Maya back in the day and I think it was the worst advice I ever got unless I'm missing something.

@JasozzGames I wonder how low poly you could make it since you are just gonna bake the texture onto it anyway which adds back the detail, 1900 tris seems like a lot still

how to turn a 3D scan into a game-ready mesh, i guess?
spent a bit this afternoon tinkering with how to decimate a 3D scan without nuking the texture, kinda cursed but worked decently!

@BIMBOSATTVA_ It's a videogame, you dont just afk for days while you boat over an ocean, you can literally wander off on little adventures like exploring ocean ruins and small islands or whatever, mojang just needs to add those sorts of things (or you can mod it in yourself).

@CyberPunkCortes Why do they have glowing white eyes? I get this from a design standpoint but it never makes any practical sense when a helmet or robot has glowing red (or any colored) eyes. Even night vision doesnt glow, at most light bleeds from behind the display as it reflects from your face.

@DeadFoxHunt on second thought its actually fine since you can bend your wrists at that position just only up and down, not twist sideways, so i guess its more of an animation problem
