huge unlock for keeping a positive optimistic headspace: choosing your calibrator for example when i’m in video-making mode, listening to @MrBeast interviews keeps my head right whenever the imposter syndrome picks up i always go back to this notion esp on the tougher entrepreneurial days find your calibrator

low-budget thinking. hear me out 1. regarding feastables, you say in podcasts that you enjoy random Walmart visits and will go back to back to back to back to back to see their chocolate aisle. why dont you play into that passion its a natural thing you like doing and way more resource constrained than many of the current videos of unlimited budgets. 2. central theme for you is thinking in terms of how can you get views on a low budget while being myself. that should get the creative wheels spinning. 3. it's funny how @casey speaks of you as the spectacle guy but do you really have to be the spectacle guy Road trip to Florida from North Carolina type of vibes just for a specific segment. stupid young dumb sht. I want more of that. I can't speak for the masses. but that hits me hardest.

@Bojohnzon and now it's infinitely easier especially for non-technical ppl. its a new world for the non-technical ppl. I consider myself in this case to be non-technical as my above-mentioned skill is lacking and im not used to these types of experiments

@extravirginguy If you build too much without user feedback you build things no one wants. Typical pitfall of engineers. It's always been "easy" to add features so founders usually found themselves building a ton of random functionality that no one wanted

Common belief is that Claude code eliminates the need for an MVP since features are so easy to add But the more features you add, the harder it is to test those features, which deems those features value-subtracting despite how easy it is to add them

@Bojohnzon it's so easy to add features that it obscures the initial testing / finding pmf objective

@extravirginguy MVPs are for testing/finding pmf - never been about difficulty of adding features

Unpopular Opinion - TGTG doesn't reduce waste Too Good To Go claims to be eliminating waste but I go to the highest grossing bagel shops and bakeries in NYC that use the service and what I find is they donate the majority of their leftovers to charity since they can't actually predict their remaining supply when they sell off their TGTG materials. While charitable contributions are great, intentional charity vs unintentional charity are two different things. Businesses are losing money with every bagel that gets donated to charity. I prefer they don’t cut half their workforce to save costs. That’s just me, the anti-charity pro profit sustainability guy. Otherwise the small mom-and-pop just will get eaten up by competition with more efficient workflows and sales tactics

52 upvotes in a TGTG community. How many contributions? 0 Support and "THIS IS AMAZING" are vanity metrics. Don't base your entrepreneurial decisions on them

Using Claude Code to solve problems is fun and all but as hard as those problems may seem, the hardest thing above all is to get people to use your tools There's no value to the perfect app with 0 users

I built a Too Good To Go Review Site so you actually know what to expect when you get a surprise bag. Right now it’s a complete mystery since reviews aren’t allowed on the platform. Anyone in NYC want to contribute? surprisebagreviews.com
