Please please stop using Slack channels as a logging platform. Simple question to ask yourself - do I need to be notified on each event? no? so it is a log use other platforms..

Be Kind to Others Kindness remains severely underrated. It fosters relationships, reduces stress and anxiety, and improves overall happiness. When you are consistently, genuinely kind, you become a magnet for the highest-quality people.

Early days, I used to think doing great work would speak on my behalf, but I was wrong. Only when a great job is viral and visible, it impacts both you and what's around you. It's not showing off. It's showing YOU!

7 questions for better thinking 1) Is that a fact or my opinion? 2) What is my % confidence on this? 3) What do I care about most? 4) How might another person view this? 5) Is it truly a binary choice? 6) What would I do if I weren't afraid? 7) Am I deciding or justifying?

Constant engagement == endless opportunities

In the last two weeks, I started the practice of daily picking up a single contact from my contact list and pinging them with a "hi, how are you." message. Try it! This practice has benefitted me so much in just two weeks, I must recommend it to others.

Assumption is the mother of all product f***ups; experimentation is the blessing.

Opportunities come and go, but frustration over missed opportunities dwells upon you for a long time. Don't hesitate when it's time to make a decision.

Poorly designed code is like untied shoelaces, it keeps tripping you down, and soon it looks so bad you lose the want even to touch it. you simply don't wear the damn shoes

@nukemberg Indeed @nukemberg , you're on to something :-). In my eyes, burnout stems from a mix of competitive env + ambitious characteristics + high ego + poor management experiences.

I'm shocked how many people I know are either recovering from burn out or currently experiencing burn out. COVID didn't help ofc, but I can't help thinking there's something very wrong in our industry

My approach: If it is important to you, I will shut up and listen with the intent of understanding

If you're bad at both micro and macro management, isn't it time to consider a career change?

There are only a handful of things more dangerous to production than alert fatigue

A client/stakeholder who finishes off with “cause I said so” when you keep trying to understand the “why” of his/her requirement is not a good client and will probably NEVER be pleased. You should consider who you’re doing business with
