Reflecting on @cozens_tom's explanation of Jesus & the cross; I think this post-it note (based on Galatians) summarises it well too (video to come). OT "Slavery": Trying to become perfect to receive God's blessing. NT "Freedom": Jesus down giving us the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Friends! Happy Good Friday, and here's a great explanation* I stumbled across by @cozens_tom. I've now also upload the sermon I gave titled 'The Courage to Trust God'** on YouTube. Happy Easter Weekend! 🥚✝️⛪️ Tafara :) -- * shorturl.at/47S94 ** shorturl.at/iSVJ5

Two statements, worlds apart: "God loved us so Jesus died." "Jesus died so God would love us." The former is biblical (cf John 3:16; Rom. 5:8-9; 1 John 4:8-10) The latter is not, yet it's communicated (explicitly or implicitly) in so much evangelism. ☹️

@glenscrivener It'll be great to meet you too! I'll be there on the Friday but not the Saturday due to a different church engagement! Hopefully you'll sign my book (rather your book)! :)

Finally finished to listening to this & what I found most interesting is that in 1 Cor 7 I always thought Paul was pro-content (reminded me of the French abolishing the marital duty to have sex). @glenscrivener Ive bought your book & excited for the Cam Apologetics conf. in June!

Haha, excited about this episode too (@CosmicSkeptic/@glenscrivener)! Can't wait to hear about what the Black Church did/didn't get right 😄.

Kemi Badenoch is right: it’s time to unite this kingdom and stop prioritising foreigners. If Starmer can block foreign speakers he dislikes, why can’t he stop the boats? These powers belong in the hands of a serious PM with a backbone, and that PM should be Kemi.

Oh, now he’s going through a life change. I thought he was just reviving his faith quietly in a church and now he’s got children. He carries so much for so many.

As it's Sunday, I'm also pleased to announce I've finally reflected/summarised the talks gave at the National Gathering by Fruitful Work & also ordered a cross from 'Ben Perkins Makes' whilst I continue thinking about my custom ring design (Cam blue for the stone?). Tafara ✝️⛪️💍

The oldest of the four chicks is now one week and all are growing well. In the next week or two we will be looking for size differences to estimate which are female (large) and which are male (smaller). Also, the feet of females will become noticeably large.

We’re delighted to share some wonderful news from our tower…🪶 We now have two #peregrine chicks! 🐣🐣 In this clip, you can just spot the second tiny white eyasses tucked safely under Mum. And we might not be done yet…there’s still a chance of a third 👀

'The Christian faith is a firm anchor and daily inspiration that guides us not only personally, but together as members of our community.' King Charles discusses the importance of faith and 'mutual understanding' during his speech to the US Congress.

@glenscrivener I think it's the desire to want to fit in. And I think in the West in particular, Christianity has been made to look 'uncool' (especially for teenagers still in school). As an evangelist at uni now, I now have better vocab to speak to non-Christians in a way that's more 'normal'.

Haha, this is so true! When I first moved to the UK, I found it strange that most people around me were not Christians, but even the ones that were struggled to talk about it (myself included) outside of church circles!
Glen Scrivener@glenscrivener

In the west, Christians live such similar lives to the culture that when we express our distinctive beliefs, strangeness is /injected/ into the relationship. In the Bible, Christians live such different lives that naming our distinctive beliefs /explains/ the strangeness.
