Breaking news Forensic Report Recommends Disciplinary Action Against Tshwane Metro Police Chief A forensic investigation has recommended disciplinary proceedings against Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) Chief Commissioner Yolande Faro over her attendance at Chinese New Year celebrations at Sun City in February 2025. According to a report by eNCA, the probe found that Deputy TMPD Chief Nomsa Nhlapo declared a R46,000 accommodation gift on behalf of department members, including Chief Faro. The development comes days after Faro testified before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, where she alleged a smear campaign against her as she fights corruption within the TMPD. During her testimony, she addressed earlier claims including that she had misrepresented her qualifications and received a R450,000 voucher insisting a previous forensic probe had cleared her. Faro previously received a final written warning in December 2025 for failing to disclose sponsored accommodation on the same trip. The TMPD has not yet commented on the latest recommendations. [WATCH] The Constitutional Court has ordered Cash Paymaster Services to repay over R81 million in profits to the South African Social Security Agency. The ruling relates to the long-running social grants case involving an invalid contract between 2012 and 2018.
