BREAKING Public Safety Canada has been community noted for misleading Canadians in a major way.

Canadians may not realize it now or anytime soon. But years from now, they will realize Carney used Trump as a trojan horse to decimate our social safety net. Corporations and CEOs will have more control over our lives than we could have ever imagined.

Canadians have become so docile & compliant that even information like this doesn’t make them blink. It’s sad. A move like this would normally see immense pressure against the Government. But in Canada it’s become meh. “Last week, the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs committees sent a letter to Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, highlighting their issues with the bill: “[I]f enacted, Bill C-22 would allow Canadian government officials to compel American companies to build backdoors into their encrypted systems, thereby introducing systemic vulnerabilities that could be exploited by hackers, foreign adversaries, and cybercriminals.”

What's really scary is how many Canadians aren't strong enough to realize that this is the stuff evil (people) governments do. This isn't a disagreement over government policy, these are bad people. I'm not joking.

Prime Minister Carney is now floating the idea of selling off Canadian infrastructure like airports to finance government projects. Our airports and transportation networks are essential to our economy, our supply chains, and our national sovereignty. They should serve Canadians, not become bargaining chips for reckless spending and political optics. So much for “Canada is not for sale.”

Carney's C-22's architecture is most similar to laws in place in China, Russia, India and Vietnam. This is wild.

Government has a role to facilitate economic activity - but Liberals are turning us into Canada Inc. We are a country, not a corporation. Public assets are resources to be used for Canadians’ benefit, not for “catalyzing” private interests. It’s shortsighted to sell them off.

🚨 Canada is becoming a full surveillance state. Signal just warned it will pull out of Canada entirely rather than comply with Bill C-22: “We’d rather pull out of the country than be compelled to compromise on the privacy promises we have made to our users.” The bill forces tech companies to retrofit systems for police & CSIS access, retain metadata for up to 1 year, and effectively weaken end-to-end encryption. Signal, Meta & Apple all say it’s a backdoor by another name. Dystopia achieved.

We won't be far behind if C-22 passes. In its current state, VPNs would almost certainly require us to log identifying user data. Signal isn't headquartered in Canada so they can just shut off Canadian servers, but our HQ is. We pay an ungodly amount of taxes to this corrupt government, and in return they want to destroy the entire essence of our service to basically spy on its own citizens. Not happening. We'll move HQ and take our taxes elsewhere.

MUST WATCH Bill C-22 could force companies to enable remote microphones, even if their devices are advertised as privacy-protected. Secret government orders could require this, creating a conflict where companies cannot inform consumers.
