Apple Vision Pro remains like, the craziest piece of technology. Can't describe the joy of making stuff happen in virtual reality at super high definition – it's like my childhood dream of entering into TRON. Complete trip.

You meet someone new on Apple Vision Pro. Face to face. 2 minutes. That’s the idea behind AuraTap, a new app. If there’s a mutual vibe, you keep going. If not, you’re on to the next. I love how quickly you can meet people, make connections, and explore each other’s profiles. It also features one of the most beautiful UX designs I’ve tried on visionOS. Everything feels incredibly polished. The app launches this Friday, March 27. They’re hosting an in app launch party this Friday at 1PM PDT. Hope you can make it.

every time this fucking app comes up i get so confused. what the fuck is the point of designing it in AR "in your living room" if your living room disappears the second you hop in pov. vr slop to its finest.
Nathie@NathieVR

This mixed reality app lets you create and ride thrilling rollercoasters in your own living room. It uses physics-based tools to design tracks that adapt to your space and then simply hop in the front seat for a first-person ride like no other.

it's so crazy to think zuck actually killed his social vr, because couldn't resist linkedin corpo posting on main the damage this image has done was irreversible
Macroblock@sainimatic

@katienotopoulos No, the metaverse was not stupid. It was early, and zuck's ridiculous avatar in front of a N64 Eiffel tower nuked it before it could take off, but fundamentally he's right and Apple is right. Spatial computing is the future. We will step inside the digital world.

This is the latest Google research on XR Interaction: World Mouse. Instead of using hand rays or gestures to point at things in the physical space, you move a cursor with a mouse and the system figures out where that cursor should sit in the 3D world. It works in two main ways: - On an object, the cursor follows the surface, so you can move precisely across walls, screens, furniture, or virtual objects. - Between objects, the system creates a smooth bridge through space, so the cursor can travel from one surface to another. That means you can go from a 2D panel to a 3D object, place content on a real wall, manipulate virtual objects, or interact with physical devices through digital proxies. This is the type of news, tools and product updates I share weekly in my newsletter. If you are into 3D XR and AI make sure to check it out (link on top of my profile). Based on “World Mouse: Exploring Interactions with a Cross-Reality Cursor” by Esen K. Tütüncü, Mar Gonzalez-Franco, Khushman Patel, and Eric J. Gonzalez

I feel like somewhere in here is a correlation between "AI companion at your side 24/7 telling you how/what to do" being the default implementation these CEOs come up with & the fact that their life is exactly that: getting told what to do by people with actual domain knowledge
John Dagdelen@jmdagdelen

Only people who don't play video games could think that this is a good idea. Imagine Netflix adding an AI that narrates what's going on in a movie to you as you watch the movie.

I refuse to charge people for a product I know will not be good enough. My ethos is that if the user never updates their app again they should still have the complete experience like we did before the internet
Kate@Psychohistory0

@EthanLipnik Perfection is the enemy of good enough. It’s never going to be perfect, my ethos has been to ship as soon as it’s good enough and iterate quickly.

Wasn't joking about this one btw You can reverse-engineer pretty much any part of Apple platform internals in seconds using Claude or Codex with Hopper MCP
Oskar Groth@oskargroth

@sids7 Connect to Hopper MCP and it’s basically as good as having access to all of Apple’s internal source code

Open Mac apps on your iPhone with my new app choclift 🍫 After extending my Mac screen with Vision Pro, I wanted even more connectivity between devices so I explored the advantage of having a separate user interface just for app management. It seems simple but it actually allows for a lot of new workflows and use-cases as you might think. Everyone works differently so we’re building this app as a platform that will support many different workflows, beyond just opening apps. Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks.
