@chuchu_hedera @jonathanstea There are also hundreds of flu strains, but only 3-6 can be put in a vaccine. The ones that are chosen are the ones that are most prevalent.

@chuchu_hedera @jonathanstea It spreads in areas where large numbers of unvaccinated people frequent, like supermarkets. Vaccinations, like condoms, are foolproof. Being vaccinated doesn't stop you carrying a virus, it stops you getting symptomatic and greatly reduces the chances of it being passed on.

@chuchu_hedera @jonathanstea Flu vaccine uptake is 70-80% annually in the UK, and most people who catch flu isolate when they get symptoms, which is after a relatively short incubation period. So you have any examples other than flu? Every question I ask is relevant to the previous ones and your answers.

@f1dec @jonathanstea Okay. Again. Do you have some sort of point or are you just giving me a pop quiz? "which is very rare" - this is wrong btw. Every flu season on earth proves this wrong. We never see the same strain twice.

@chuchu_hedera @jonathanstea Correct. If natural heard immunity is achieved, which is very rare, it means several people have died or are living with disfigurement.

@f1dec @jonathanstea So depending on the disease, between 50 and 95% of a population need to be infected with an active or inactive strain in a similar time period, accounting for lags and decays, to acheive enough antibodies that the reset are effectively isolated from each other.

@jachu1999 @cytrusf1 Most modern cars have anti-stall, which is why your car can still move off in 3rd gear. The ECU engages the clutch regardless of the pressure you apply to it.

@f1dec @cytrusf1 I don't think it's an anti-stall system. You just riding your clutch until wheel speed reaches your engine revs (even if it's 900rpm in 3rd gear) if you do it gently (if no you'll probably stalls or kangaroos). F1 anti-stall engage the cluth if engine revs drops below certain lvl

@USBornNRaised @jonathanstea 1978 was the last incidence of smallpox, and that was as a result of a lab accident. 1977 was the last naturally occurring case of smallpox. Yes, we're coming up of half a century since the eradication of one of the most deadly diseases known to man.

Tired of being politically correct
@f1dec @jonathanstea All I know is fear is a hell of a drug. It made sane people inject themselves with multiple rounds of an experimental drug for a virus with a 99% survival rate- for those under 65.

@robinibiza If it’s a penalty should it not be a red card? A ‘50/50’ tackle ending with a broken leg would always be a red card. Just saying
