@RinoTheBouncer I think the picture is bigger than that. There are still great looking games with unbelievable graphics, but pixel art and side scrolling games have an aura that takes us back . I put modern 2D Mario and Sonic games as an example. Why do Sonic Mania or Super Mario Wonder exist?

HOT TAKE: Stylized modern games get a free pass due to appealing to nostalgic looks, but most of them are mediocre because they copy the limitation of old school games, not their substance🚀 Old school games didn’t aim to be stylized, they aimed for realism and the tech limitation only allowed them to look as they did. Back in the day, it was the best they could offer, and they had so much substance, so much fun factor and depth. However, that stylized look today is just deliberately holding yourself back on the one aspect that games get right nowadays, which is graphics. If you want old school gaming greatness, don’t copy the look, because that was never the main appeal. We didn’t love retro games because of pixel art, blocky models and pre-rendered backgrounds. We loved them for their superior substance, so copy that substance into modern games, and keep the graphics as stunning as modern systems allow you too🎤

@RinoTheBouncer In the end that depends on your screen and your preferences. Maybe you prefer the game to look darker so when it's dark it's actually dark, which is often my case and that's why I love HDR

@MightyGazelle1 Y'all forgetting the original Ocarina of Time was 3D with no cell shading or anything similar, just pure 3D, limitations of the time I guess but imo the fact they respected that art style is the best decision they could've made

@ChaosX2006 This might be an unpopular opinion, but there's a thin line between improving gameplay of a character and making him totally different from what it should be, and I think that line was crossed here. Silver is meant to be slow on the ground and rely on flying for moving quick

By the way! On the side I've been having a lot of fun poking at the Silver side game I showcased last month, the recent Silver craze inspired me to return to the ideas I had for it and got new ones still cooking👀 Still very WIP, but if interest is high, I might continue it~
