What a disgrace. I took our domestic worker to #HelenJoseph hospital “Breast Clinic” this morning, to have a scan (sonar or x-Ray) on orders from her doctor. @GautengHealth They took her R95 and then proceeded to tell her the “machine is broken”. Two other ladies there said this is what they’ve been telling them for many weeks now - no improvement. She was told to come back next week but to phone first to see if the machine is fixed. No regard for public health. No reasonable explanations. No empathy. This is pathetic. @Lesufi your #GautengHealth department is disgraceful.

RESPONSE TO DAs INVOKING OF CLAUSE 19 OF THE STATEMENT OF INTENT Clause 19 does not apply to bills that have already been passed. Legally clause 19 of the statement of intent would only apply to bills that are proposed/drafted by ministers or DMs. These are bills that would have to be approved by cabinet prior to them being submitted to the speaker and chair of the NA. Clause 19 would not include bills that come from the parliamentary committee, or an individual member of parliament or bills already passed in parliament because that would mean a party that has lost in parliament now has veto powers in cabinet. The law does not make provision for such. Clause 19 also does not make provision for a reset of all bills parties in the GNU do not agree with. That would be unlawful in fact. The president (not cabinet) may remit a bill if there are constitutional concerns. There aren’t any at this point. The DAs problem with the act is with a specific clause that empowers the state in appropriate instances to expropriate subject to nil compensation.
