@xEBENZRx @lildeadass google safe browsing is more transparent than opera’s equivalent, better support for web apps and PWAs, faster javascript execution, more reliable cookie and session management meaning you get logged out less randomly, and more font (text style) rendering consistency across sites

@xEBENZRx @lildeadass better sandboxing meaning malware in one tab can’t easily affect others, more predictable memory usage (opera GX’s ram limiter sounds cool but chrome just handles it better natively), better integration with android if you use it, more reliable push notifications

@xEBENZRx @JohnWiddleson i also downloaded GX a few yrs ago cause someone i liked on YouTube was sponsored by them. then when i really got into being privacy conscious i realised that it was just Chinese spyware, that and Chrome was faster and used a shit ton less battery life, so i switched to Chrome

@JohnWiddleson @f4dedlight ive never used the base opera browser. i only download gx years ago bc i saw youtube videos abt it when it first came out and it seemed like it had what i wanted out of a browser.
