the shit is hitting the fan. Trump blundered into what he thought would be a few day “excursion” as he calls it, maybe Venezuela 2.0. That is not what Israel had in mind, the military has hit all of its targets. He has no idea what he is doing, his intelligence and other aides were appointed not to tell him anything he does not want to hear; not a single one of them can explain what the goal is. Congressional Republicans have their heads deep in the sand, and now talk of $200 billion Pentagon supplemental and sending more potential ground troops

I really hate the OTAs... should $EXPE really be +7% on some positive airline updates? Or did I miss other news.

@obrien I bet nothing will change. Any company that stops publishing quarterly reports would send such a negative report. Plus the processes are already in place

Here are 10 consequences of the US-Israel attack on Iran. A thread. 1) US soft power is damaged. To launch an attack without clear aims or an exit strategy has upset allies - in Europe, Gulf & Asia - who must bear the economic, political and military consequences./1

China? Send ships to rescue Trump from the mess of his own making? New levels of delusion. France, UK & Japan also very unwilling to enter a war on which they were not consulted. Sounds as if Trump is preparing to blame his allies for the mess he made - as EU officials suspected

@Kellblog Bottom line I guess it will cause many people to reconsider their choice and move to CA or TX depending on how sensitive you are to tax vs opportunity

@Kellblog I agree that income tax is fine, but the washington in badly designed. It is very concentrated on a limited number of people, with probably the majority in tech. At the same time the seattle tech ecosystem is struggling with Amazon and Microsoft doing regular rounds of layoffs.

"Taxing me is really bad for you." -- said often toaday, and often said by people who've benefitted massively from public infrastructure or spending The reality's in the middle here, folks. It costs money to run a state; someone needs to pay for it. Most no-income tax states backfill with sales tax, property tax, and some sector tax (e.g., oil, tourism, gaming). Washington didn't implement a wealth tax, they implemented state income tax. Going from 0% to 10% overnight seems political suicide. But 41 states has income taxes. The others backfill in some way.
Steve Forbes@SteveForbesCEO

High taxes on wealth aren’t just bad politics; they’re bad economics. When states punish success, investment and talent leave. The result is slower growth, fewer jobs, and shrinking opportunity for the very workers these policies claim to help. nypost.com/2026/03/10/opi…
