Btw at 14, I wanted to be a writer, at the end I did business studies, my parents still sacrificed everything they had to pay for it. All of that abuse, just to fold at the end in front of a little girl who showed them she was serious about resisting and being strategic with it 🤷🏾‍♀️ My patriarchal parents still hate what I represent as a rebellious woman but they respect my courage. It’s quite affirming to be hated by your oppressors and respected, sometimes feared at the same time tbh. I am used to it. My conclusion is as a girl•woman under patriarchy, you have better chances of bending the world toward your will if you refuse to abandon yourself. Don’t fold, girls.

One fatal cultural flaw of ours is the collective inability to appreciate how politics at every level impacts on the most minute detail of your everyday personal life forever. E.g there’s an invisible yet straight line between your government and your height/dentition/genes, etc.

Corporate Nigeria is quiet about Tinubu for the same reason you don’t argue with the person holding your operating license. In a high-stakes regulatory environment, their support is not really an endorsement. It’s self preservation & risk management. Don’t ask execs what they think about the Tinubu economy. Ask your mechanic, the market woman on the street, the fruit seller. The street is not that quiet.

There is no corporate finance person, Investment and Asset manager and business leader who is not backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu except those blinded by bias. Some of them don't show it publicly but they do. Hardly will you find anyone from CFO - ED - MD / CEO / business leaders in corporate Nigeria who is not backing the president. The last time this sort of shift happened was in 2003.

Been trying to track the GT shares my mum bought for me when I was younger. I tried to fill the mandate with datamax last year but it was declined. Who can I speak to?

The number of weddings today is actually outrageous. Everyone is either a guest or the couple themselves.

The way men talk to women about the slightest technical stuff kills me. I'm trying to set up some stuff and the guys kept asking me if we have our own lighting supply. Took me asking "what three times?" to go 'Oh we've got a separate distribution box!" This man says "oh you even know what it is!" NIGGA what the fuck is lighting supply????

At Law School, I came in with a clear strategy — my reading partners had to be people I could flow with, and from experience, I leaned towards ladies. So I was intentional about finding ladies with the same mindset and goals. As Leader of Group 3, during our first and second meetings, one person stood out — Ogechi Ifeazi. She was always on point, answering questions with so much clarity. I remember thinking, “Who is this? She’s brilliant.” I knew immediately I had to work with her. Then came our first snap test in Lagos. The top position was announced — Ivy Mary Eweputana. I had already seen her name on the Trailblazers group, so I wasn’t even surprised. In my mind, I just said, “I have to connect with her.” Luckily, she and Ogechi were classmates, so it was an easy link-up. The 3 of us formed a reading group — “3 in One BGSES.” The goal was simple: accountability and excellence. Not long after, I noticed another brilliant mind during group sessions — Ogonna. We brought her in, and it became “4 in One BGSES.” From Week 1 to Week 20, these people kept me on my toes. No dulling. At the end, we produced: 🔥 3 First Class 🔥 1 Second Class Upper Simple advice for Law School students: Be intentional about your circle. Find people with the same hunger and discipline. It makes all the difference. @Four_eyed_belle @notjustivy

This is why it is so important to get your PVC and go out to vote. Your vote counts. The higher the turnout, the harder it is to rig. But you can’t vote if you do not have your PVC. So please get it
Adésóyè@victorfatanmi

Your votes actually count. Parts of it gets rigged, but it counts. If it doesn't, politicians won't invest hundreds of millions in vote buying. Rigging is mathematically limited, and if the gap is huge enough, you can't close it. Get your PVC.

Things like weddings, houses, personal style—I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for it to mirror YOU. There must be character, individuality is such an important aspect of culture and it must make a comeback.
