My favorite Qur’an reciter is my mom. and wallahi, nothing comes close. Every day after Asr, she would sit on her prayer mat and recite, and the whole house would go quiet, not because we were told to, but because her voice would calm everything inside us. After Isha, she would gather us in the living room and teach us the Qur’an. One page every week, and on Sunday we would give hadda. If you failed you already knew there was punishment with house chores. No one ever wanted to fail, Because if you did, you’d be stuck doing chores, and my siblings would tease you for the whole week But today, I’d do anything just to fail again and hear her correct me one more time🥹😭 My dad used to say whenever she recited, he would listen until he fell asleep. Until she passed away and left us in this world, and the house has never sounded the same. May Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings. Ameen ya Rabb🥹😭🤲🏾

This question has got me thinking ever since I saw it. I believe I should say something about it. I understand the feeling we have when we look at the terrifying scale of the cosmos. And it is only logical to think about how it could have been built in 6 days. On the surface, it feels mathematically impossible. However, I know that this conflict only exists because we subconsciously force God (an infinite creator) into a finite human clock. To answer this properly, we need to arrive at a consensus. Both the Quran and the Bible agree that the Almighty God created the heavens and earth in 6 days. If we agree to this, then we can move forward. First of all, we need to deconstruct time itself. A standard day is defined by one rotation of the Earth facing the Sun. However, how do we measure the first phases of creation using a 24-hour earthly clock when the Earth and the Sun did not even exist yet? We all know that Time is a physical construct bound by gravity and mass. God created time. Therefore, he is not trapped inside it. Then we need to go into the scriptures to understand the word “Day” itself. The Quran, which was revealed in classical Arabic, used the word "Yawm." The Bible (in Hebrew) used the word "Yom". Both Yawm and Yom share the same ancient Semitic root. Today, people restrict these words to a normal day. But in the actual ancient Semitic usage, both terms meant a distinct epoch, a long era, or a defining phase of time. In fact, the Quran defines this relativity internally. In Surah Al-Hajj (22:47), Allah says a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of your counting. When we go further into history, the answer becomes even clearer. Augustine of Hippo, one of the most authoritative theologians in the entire history of Christianity, addressed this very question in his work “The Literal Meaning of Genesis.” Mind you, he wrote this book in the fourth century, which is more than 1500 years before any modern cosmology existed. He stated clearly that the days of Genesis should not be read as ordinary solar days. He argued that the human mind cannot fully comprehend what kind of days those were, since the sun had not yet been created to measure them by. If we come further to Islamic theology, Imam al-Tabari, in his Jami al-Bayan, recorded the positions of Ibn Abbas and Mujahid from the earliest generations of Islam. They explicitly stated that the six days of creation were not earthly days but rather each day was equivalent to a thousand years of human reckoning. This was the position of the first generation of Islamic scholars. Interestingly, Imam Al-Qurtubi in Al-Jami li Ahkam al-Quran stated the philosophical reason behind it all. He explained that God could have created everything in a single fraction of a second with the command “Be.” He said that the Almighty built it in six stages to teach His creation the concept of deliberation, order, and the law of cause and effect, which has been the driving force of all innovation and discovery ever since the inception of man. After all I’ve said, it is safe to say that we land in one common spot: (1) That the word “Day” is not literal in the modern sense. (2) That the human clock cannot accurately measure cosmic creation because it is a logical impossibility to use a solar clock to measure the universe before the sun was even formed. Time is relative, and the Creator is not bound by the physical constraints of it. (3) That the titans of ancient theology established this understanding centuries before modern cosmology existed. (4) That the six stages represent divine order and a deliberate choice to establish the laws of physics and teach creation the concept of process, structure, and deliberation. I hope this answers your question, Oladele.

This is the story nobody tells about japa. The sacrifices men make to move their families abroad, the guarantor loans, the years of grinding to build stability for everyone else. And when your body breaks down, the same system you funded becomes the weapon used against you. Divorce papers while fighting cancer. Blocked relatives while dying alone. Then unblocking them when it’s time to fundraise for a funeral. The cruelty is calculated. Rest in peace king.

Code review is mentoring, not gatekeeping. The teams I've led that treated PR reviews as learning opportunities shipped better code and had higher retention than teams where reviews felt like interrogations. If your senior engineers dread reviewing PRs, you have a culture problem, not a process problem.

I need someone to tell me about this guy if you know him. Is he a convert or an apostate? I am asking because this space will be hot for him very soon. I just want to know who he is. The name Maliq is confusing because his tweets are always against Islam...
Maliq@MasterMaliq

The Quran NEVER Calls Christians “Infidels” – Here’s the Clear Truth Christians are never referred to as infidels in the Holy Quran. Not once. Not a single verse. The “infidels” the Quran actually mentions were the pagan Arabs of Mecca, the very people who turned against the first Muslims and tried to wipe them out in their own city. This wasn’t a global command for war or Muslim domination of the world. It was strictly about self defence in those specific early battles when the Muslims were fighting for survival against betrayal by their own people. Now here’s what changes everything: When the Prophet Muhammad feared for the lives of the very first Muslims, he didn’t send them to another Muslim tribe for safety. Instead, he sent them to Christian Abyssinia (modern-day Ethiopia), where a righteous Christian king, the Najashi, welcomed and protected them. If Islam truly taught hatred or killing of Christians, why would the Prophet send his most vulnerable followers to a Christian kingdom during the most dangerous time in early Islamic history? It simply doesn’t make sense. So the real question we all need to ask is: If the Prophet never hated Christians… where did all this modern-day hatred actually come from?

@Khene_Cole @YusufAsunmogejo @BashirAhmaad You're missing the point. The scary parts are misquoting the Quran and hadiths just to make some points. It's evident in our Quran/Hadiths that no one should be killed unjustly whether Christians or not.

Is this a brand new scientific revelation? They are surprised at how the Earth and the Moon move together through space, locked in their paths without colliding. Allah described this orbital mechanics over 1400 years ago in a way that modern astronomy is just catching up to. In Surah Ya-Sin (36:40), Allah says: لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ "It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit." Look at the specific Arabic word used at the end of that verse: يَسْبَحُونَ (yasbahun). This translates to swimming or floating smoothly along a course. It is the perfect, literal description of celestial bodies gliding through the vacuum of space, bound by what these scientists now call gravity. They are not fixed to solid domes like the ancient Greeks believed. They are floating in their designated paths. Allah repeats this in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:33): وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ "And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all in an orbit are swimming." They spend billions of dollars on deep space satellites and telescopes just to post an image of what an unlettered Prophet in the desert recited to his companions centuries ago. The truth has always been there for anyone willing to read. We are and will be always 1400+ years ahead no matter the billions you spend.

I spent 3 weeks in Madinah In which I spent time at Masjid Nabawi during the last 10 nights of Ramadhan I also went horse riding, did archery, had fun, went restaurant hopping, got invited for a dawat by a Yemeni brother Done Ziyaarah and plenty of shopping I also chilled and did nothing some days, I worked, I also done Go-Karting and so many other things Islam isn’t a religion where you solely spend your time in masjids and reciting Quran You can go Madinah and enjoy yourself and partake in recreational activities all in halal manners In fact all of these activities can be turned into forms of Ibaadah and can be used to make bonds stronger amongst those you’re travelling with. There’s nothing wrong with going Madinah and playing padal. Go to these places and enjoy yourselves Your love for the city will grow even more

My dad once told me that when he moved to Lagos in 1988, the first house he rented at 101 Powerline Orile-Agege was owned by a man named Mr. Ajakaye. Instead of giving him a fixed rent, the landlord simply asked, “How much do you have?” my dad was shocked. It didn’t stop there. Anytime my dad had a new child, this man would waive the rent for that month and the next two months. In fact, from the moment he heard my dad was planning to move into his own house in 1996, he stopped collecting rent entirely. I often wonder if that kindness is what shaped my dad’s own generosity. He ran his house like a form of charity while he was alive and I’ve continued that legacy. For almost 8 years now, I haven’t increased the rent for the tenants in his house, despite how much things have changed. The internet is a big place, but I just want to say thank you to that man Mr. Ajakaye. He was truly special, and I hope this message somehow reaches his children.

“Meet the best landlord in the world, my former landlord, the moment he knew I was building my own permanent place, he gave me his full support, my rent expired last year June but this man didn't allow me to renew my rent again, he gave me extra 6 months rent free to complete my building. You can imagine leaving a rented space to your own permanent site, this man made it possible. I’ll forever be indebted you sir. Thank you for making this journey an easy one..." How did this ignorant foreigner enter our country? To the DSS @OfficialDSSNG , I am forced to believe you are complicit in the nonsense this man is doing. Ever since the aggressors in America started pushing this fake Christian Genocide narrative, all has not been well with our communities. This guy is a walking threat to our national peace. What in God's name is he doing here inciting locals? And to Oseni Rufai and the crew at Arise Television @ARISEtv, your lover boy from America is here spewing pure hatred on our land. I know you guys gave wings to this kind of narrative in the past. Now look at the monster it is feeding. That said, let me address the blatant lies he told about Islam to the crowd. He quoted Surah 9:29 out of nowhere to claim Islam commands the killing of Christians. Anyone who has studied basic Tafsir knows this verse was revealed during a state of war. It was revealed right before the Battle of Tabuk in the 9th year of Hijrah. At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) received confirmed military intelligence that the Byzantine Empire, the Romans, and their allied Arab tribes were massing a huge army in Syria. Their goal was to march on Medina and wipe out the early Muslims. It was an impending invasion. The verse was a military command to the Head of State to mobilize his army to defend their borders against a foreign superpower just like any serious country would do today. It was never a blank cheque for regular citizens to walk into a village and slaughter their peaceful Christian neighbors. If it was, the Prophet would not have hosted the Christian delegation of Najran in his own mosque and signed a peace treaty guaranteeing their religious freedom. He also lied about Jihad. The strict Islamic rules of engagement forbid the killing of non-combatants, women, children, and priests. A criminal herdsman or bandit killing farmers for land and resources is not doing Jihad. It is pure criminality. The biggest proof is that these same armed groups slaughter thousands of Muslims in Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina. Are those Muslims fighting a Christian Jihad too? He is twisting a socio-economic crisis into a religious war just to secure funding from his foreign donors, yet the government is aloof. This is an admonition to the government. Our unity is already fragile and this man is lighting a match near a powder keg. I do not see any reason this guy should be allowed to spend the next 24 hours in our country. Pick him up and deport him before he sets this nation on fire.
